About the RM of Vanscoy
The RM of Vanscoy No. 345 (the RM) is a diverse and growing rural municipality strategically located in the heart of Saskatchewan, immediately west of the city of Saskatoon. The RM covers an area of approximately 886 square kilometres and is a key agricultural producer in the region, with a strong foundation in grain and livestock farming. The landscape is characterized by productive farmland, natural spaces, and the South Saskatchewan River, which serves as the southern portion of our eastern border.
The northern border of the RM runs parallel to highway 14, with the RM boundary extending west past the Town of Asquith. The southern border also runs parallel to Highway 14, located south of the Town of Delisle and Pike Lake.
Our proximity to Saskatoon offers residents the unique advantage of country living with convenient access to urban amenities, health and educational institutions, and a major economic hub.

The RM is also home to significant industrial and commercial developments. Major transportation corridors, including Highways 7 and 14 and the CN and CP rail mainlines, run through the municipality, positioning it as a vital link for commerce and transport.
According to the 2021 Statistics Canada Census, the population of the RM was 2,975. However, it is noted by RM administration that census participation rates may not fully capture the community's total population, which is believed to be higher. Like many municipalities in the Saskatoon region, the RM is experiencing growth pressure for residential, commercial, and industrial growth. This strategic plan is designed to manage this growth effectively, ensuring that we preserve our agricultural heritage while seizing new opportunities for development.
Vision, Mission & Values
A Vision, Mission, and a set of core Values are the foundational pillars of our strategic plan. The Vision is our long-term, aspirational goal—it describes the ideal future we are working to create for the RM. The Mission is more immediate; it defines our organization's core purpose, outlining what we do, who we serve, and how we do it every day. Our Values are the guiding principles that shape our actions, culture, and decisions along the way.
Together, these statements are crucial because they provide a clear and consistent framework for governance. They act as a compass for Council and administration, ensuring every policy, project, and service aligns with our ultimate goals and builds trust and transparency with our community.
Vision
The RM of Vanscoy is a destination for families with a strong, self-sufficient economy, with its own reliable infrastructure to support vibrant residential growth and a thriving business hub that attracts diverse industrial and commercial investment that complements our agricultural foundation.
